Tile repair near Cwmavon

Tile repair in Cwmavon without replacing anything

A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will say so. We repair the tile in place, so you do not need to find a spare. Whether it’s drill holes from removed fittings and discontinued tiles you can’t replace, we can help, whatever the material.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Speckled stone tiles with chips repaired to match the pattern

Honest limits

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Porcelain tiles
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Marble

The process

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a few hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Before we arrive

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Advice

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair keeps the original tile. Prices start from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Cwmavon. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Cwmavon: your questions answered

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.

Can a cracked tile be fixed in place?

Generally, if it is not loose.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Cwmavon

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Cwmavon use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

What affects the price in Cwmavon

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is
  • How hard the colour is to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Choosing a repair company

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
