Tile repair in Dogslacks

Tile repair at your home in Dogslacks

The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will tell you. We work on floor and wall tiles, natural stone & granite and marble, and people most frequently call us about drill holes from removed fittings and damaged tile edges.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Speckled stone tiles with chips repaired to match the pattern

How we price tile repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How much damage there is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The material, if you know it
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Our hiring checklist

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, including clearing up.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Ceramic tiles
  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Marble
  • Porcelain tiles

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repairing versus replacing in Dogslacks

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What you get with us

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One visit for most repairs
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Colour-matched on site
