Tile repair in Hilton

Tile repair at your home in Hilton

We repair the tile in place, so you don’t need to find a spare. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will tell you. We work on natural stone & granite, floor and wall tiles and ceramic tiles, and the jobs we see most are damaged tile edges and discontinued tiles you can’t replace.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Marble
  • Porcelain tiles

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Hilton use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile involves breaking out the old tile, finding a match and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

How to compare quotes

What tile repair costs

Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Hilton. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • The colour and finish to match
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Doing more than one item at once

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • One picture of the entire tiled area
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire tiled area, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

How it works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a few hours. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Open a window if you can

Getting a price
