Tile repair at your home in Leasgill

The tile stays where it is, so there’s no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will say so. We’re often asked to fix cracked floor tiles and chips from dropped pans and tools, across floor and wall tiles, porcelain tiles and ceramic tiles.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Leasgill as everywhere else we work. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Ceramic tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Porcelain tiles
  • Marble
  • Floor and wall tiles

The process

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. We shape the repair flush with the tile.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Leasgill questions

Can you quote from pictures?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Repairs from £95. There is no area surcharge for Leasgill. What changes the price is:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the entire tiled area
