Tile repair at your home in Mount Pleasant

We repair the tile in place, so you do not need to find a spare. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will say so. We regularly repair natural stone & granite, porcelain tiles and floor and wall tiles, and people most often call us about cracked floor tiles and drill holes from removed fittings.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

How we price tile repair

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How much damage there is
  • Access to the area
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The type of damage

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed price

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A wider photo showing the entire tiled area
  • Where you are, by postcode

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire tiled area, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • No extra charge for your area
  • One visit for most repairs
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We shape the repair flush with the tile.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Ensure the area is dry

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.
