Tile repair in Roedean

Tile repair at your home in Roedean

If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. We repair the tile in place, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. Whether it’s damaged tile edges and drill holes from removed fittings, we can generally put it right, on natural stone & granite, marble and ceramic tiles alike.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

FAQs for Roedean

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you repair a cracked floor tile without replacing it?

Generally, as long as it’s still firmly stuck down.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Can you fill holes left by old fittings?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Brighton and Hove and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

What a repair cannot fix

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Floor and wall tiles
  • Marble
  • Porcelain tiles
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Natural stone & granite

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why us?

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Generally one visit, start to finish

Read our prices page.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Clear the area around the damage

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Choosing a repair company

What affects the price in Roedean

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • The material
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
