Is a repair better than a new one?

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can you repair a cracked floor tile without replacing it?

Typically, if it isn’t loose.

What does tile repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Tile repair at your home in Sarre

The tile stays where it is, so there’s no need to hunt for a matching tile. If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we will tell you. Common call-outs are for damaged tile edges and discontinued tiles you can’t replace, on porcelain tiles, floor and wall tiles and ceramic tiles.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

How we price tile repair

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your photos

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs

Most customers in Sarre get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We clean the tile and remove loose fragments.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed to suit the tile’s finish.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, finding a match and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it keeps the original tile. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Landlord and trade work in Sarre

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
