Tile repair in Simpson Cross without replacing anything

If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll tell you. The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. Our technicians work on marble, ceramic tiles and floor and wall tiles, and people most often call us about discontinued tiles you can’t replace and cracked floor tiles.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Simpson Cross and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Dropped pans and tools chip floor tiles, and wall tiles get drilled for fittings that are later removed. Movement underneath can also crack tiles.

How to compare quotes

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping out a damaged tile involves breaking out the old tile, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Colour-matched on site
  • We leave the room as we found it

How the visit works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. The chip, crack or hole is filled.
  3. We shape the repair flush with the tile.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Ensure the area is dry

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Honest limits

We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Marble
  • Porcelain tiles
  • Natural stone & granite
  • Floor and wall tiles

How we price tile repair

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Access to the area
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work
  • The colour and finish to match

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

You can generally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Any details about the material
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the whole tiled area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Simpson Cross: your questions answered

Can a cracked tile be fixed in place?

Often, yes, as long as it’s still firmly stuck down.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

What about drill holes in tiles?

Yes. Drill holes from old rails and shelves are a common job.

Can you price it without visiting?

Generally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.
