Tile repair in Stonebridge without replacing anything

The tile stays where it is, so you do not need to find a spare. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we’ll tell you. Our repair technicians work on ceramic tiles, floor and wall tiles and natural stone & granite, and people most frequently call us about chips from dropped pans and tools and discontinued tiles you can’t replace.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

How to compare quotes

How we price tile repair

Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material and finish

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Email us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Stonebridge, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. A repair leaves the tile where it is. Our tile repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Work done at your home or business
  • No extra charge for your area
  • No need to remove anything

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

The process

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a morning or an afternoon, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
  2. We fill the chip, crack or hole.
  3. The repair is levelled to the tile surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal it to match the tile.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Questions from Stonebridge

What does tile repair cost?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Will the price change on the day?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It clears as the materials cure.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Can a cracked tile be fixed in place?

Usually, if it isn’t loose.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:

  • Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
  • Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
  • Whole walls of failing grout

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
