Tile repair for The Quays homes

Tile repair at your home in The Quays

If a tile moves, it may need relaying first, and we’ll say so. The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. Whether it’s cracked floor tiles and damaged tile edges, we can normally put it right, on ceramic tiles, marble and porcelain tiles alike.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Take care with heavy items on repaired tiles, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and risking the tiles around it. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • How many areas need work
  • The type of damage
  • The material
  • How hard the colour is to match

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone. Just ensure we can see:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

The Quays: your questions answered

Do you cover The Quays?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to The Quays and the rest of Greater Manchester. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote, usually with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

Landlord and trade work in The Quays

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Our hiring checklist

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

How it works

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First the tile is cleaned and loose pieces removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage.
  3. We level and shape the repair to the tile surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are recreated by hand.
  5. We seal the repair to suit the finish of the tile.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
