About our toilet chip repair in Balfour

We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so you do not need a plumber or a new toilet. Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we will tell you if that’s what we find. Common call-outs are for chips on the pan or rim and damage from dropped items, on toilet pans, porcelain and pedestals.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Aberdeenshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a toilet means a plumber and possibly new flooring, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. A repair leaves it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes an hour or two, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. The glaze is colour-matched and finished.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Before we arrive

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Balfour questions

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

What does toilet chip repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Can you fix a cracked toilet that leaks?

No. That needs a new toilet. We fix chips and broken pieces.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire toilet and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.

When we’d advise against a repair

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cisterns & lids
  • Vitreous china
  • Toilet pans
  • Pedestals
  • Porcelain

What affects the price in Balfour

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the whole toilet
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
