Toilet chip repair for Galashiels homes

Why repair rather than replace?

A new toilet means a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. A repair keeps the toilet you have. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why book with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Toilet chip repair in Galashiels without replacing anything

We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. A crack that leaks can’t be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll tell you if that is what we find. Whether it’s marks on the outside of the pan and damage from dropped items, we can help.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Galashiels and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Landlord and trade work in Galashiels

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How we price toilet chip repair

Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Something in shot to show the size

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes an hour or two, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We clean and dry the damaged area.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. We sand the repair level.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Open a window if you can

How to get a price

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, with your TD1 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
