Toilet chip repair near Hartburn

Toilet chip repair at your home in Hartburn

Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so you don’t need a plumber or a new toilet. A crack that leaks cannot be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll tell you if that is what we find. Whether it’s chips on the pan or rim and damage from dropped items, we can normally put it right.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Toilet pans
  • Vitreous china
  • Cisterns & lids
  • Pedestals
  • Porcelain

Repairing versus replacing in Hartburn

Replacing a toilet needs a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. A repair leaves it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the work takes one to two hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We clean and dry the damaged area.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. It’s sanded flush.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Common problems we fix in Hartburn

People usually call us when they notice something like this:

How we price toilet chip repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Hartburn. The price reflects:

  • The material and finish
  • The type of damage
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Doing more than one item at once

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.

How to get a fixed price

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
