About our toilet chip repair in Old Sarum

Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we will tell you if that is what we find. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. Common call-outs are for chips on the pan or rim and pieces knocked off during fitting, across vitreous china, cisterns & lids and pedestals.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Before and after: a damaged ceramic basin restored

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Wiltshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What we can’t put right

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

How to compare quotes

What toilet chip repair costs

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Old Sarum. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Any details about the material
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the toilet, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Should you replace it?

A new toilet means a plumber and possibly new flooring, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Why us?

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes one to two hours. We leave the room clean.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. We sand the repair level.
  4. We colour-match and finish the glaze.
  5. We polish the repair to blend it in.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Clear the area around the damage

Getting a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
