Toilet chip repair at your home in Polwarth
We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we’ll say so if we find one. Common call-outs are for chips on the pan or rim and marks on the outside of the pan, in pedestals, toilet pans and vitreous china.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit. Avoid dropping heavy items and clean the outside of the pan gently.

Common questions in Polwarth
Are you accredited?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.
What do you need from me?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Will the price change on the day?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
What does toilet chip repair cost?
Repairs from £95. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your EH11 postcode.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
What affects the price in Polwarth
Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How hard the colour is to match
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The material and finish
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Quotes from your pictures
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A photo taken from further back
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Something in shot to show the size
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
Do you need toilet chip repair in Polwarth?
Most toilet chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted, or when something heavy is dropped. Cistern lids get chipped surprisingly frequently.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Chips on the pan or rim
- Damage from dropped items
- Marks on the outside of the pan
- Chips on the cistern lid
What your quote should include
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- How soon you can use it again
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
Should you replace it?
A new toilet means a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why us?

How it works
We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes an hour or two, and we will keep you posted as we go.
- First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
- We fill and rebuild missing material to the original shape.
- We sand it flush.
- We match the colour to the glaze.
- Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
Ask for a price
Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your EH11 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:
- A crack that leaks water

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Polwarth
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
