Trusted worktop repair in All Cannings

Worktop repair at your home in All Cannings

You don’t need a new worktop because of one mark. The damage is filled and refinished so it blends into the pattern. Our technicians work on laminate, quartz and solid wood, and the jobs we see most are damage around the sink cut-out and a chipped quartz edge.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in All Cannings as everywhere else we work.

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Watch the edges with heavy pans
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Keep joints and edges dry

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use, especially near the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a worktop means removing the old one, cutting and fitting a new one and refitting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. A repair keeps your existing worktop. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Access to the area
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for All Cannings. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One picture of the whole worktop

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

When we would advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A cracked stone top that is unsupported

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
