Worktop repair in Appleton-le-Moors without replacing anything

Worktops are expensive to replace and hard to match, particularly where several lengths join. A repair leaves the kitchen untouched. We regularly repair granite & marble, solid surface (such as Corian) and laminate, and people most often call us about damage to a stone worktop and gouges in the surface.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Appleton-le-Moors questions

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

How much does worktop repair cost in Appleton-le-Moors?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your YO62 postcode.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can you repair a burn in a worktop?

Frequently, yes. The burn is cut back, filled and patterned to match.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you match granite flecks?

Colour, flecks and veins are recreated by hand, for a repair that blends in.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work. It clears as the materials cure.

Choosing a repair company

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

When we would advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • A cracked stone top that’s unsupported
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • A top that moves on its units

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Granite & marble
  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Laminate
  • Solid wood

Different materials, different repairs

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so marks can frequently be sanded and refinished.

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It generally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire worktop, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Don’t let water sit on joints
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Keep a trivet by the hob

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

Do not leave damage by the sink, as water can get in and cause swelling.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
