Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Bilbrook use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

Worktop repair at your home in Bilbrook

The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. We build up the colour and flecks by hand so the repair blends in. We work on solid surface (such as Corian), solid wood and quartz, and people most frequently call us about chips on edges and corners and dents and gouges.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

How to get a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Do you need worktop repair in Bilbrook?

The worst damage often happens in a moment: a hot pan set straight down, or a heavy pan catching the edge. Scratches build up more slowly, from knives and grit.

Most people contact us when they notice something like this:

  • Damage around the sink cut-out
  • A heat mark or burn
  • Damage from fitting or building work
  • Damage to a stone worktop

What your quote should include

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How the colour is matched
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so scratches and burns can often be sanded out and refinished.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Dry around the sink and joints
  • Keep wood oiled
  • Watch the edges with heavy pans
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
