Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Southend-on-Sea and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Repairs by material
Granite and stone
Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.
Quartz
Quartz is crushed stone bound with resin. Edge chips are very common, and we fill and polish them.
Repairing versus replacing in Chalkwell
Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, cutting and fitting a new one and refitting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. A repair leaves the worktop in place. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How to care for the repair
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Take care with heavy pans near edges
- Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
- Use a chopping board
- Keep a trivet by the hob
Keep joints and the sink edge dry, particularly with laminate and timber.
Don’t leave damage by the sink, as water can get in and cause swelling.
What we do, step by step
Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
- We cut back any burnt or loose material.
- The area is filled and shaped.
- The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
- It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Keep a parking space free if you can
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the worktop, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
