Worktop repair in Culloden, done in place
Worktops are expensive to replace and hard to match, especially in an L-shaped or long kitchen. Repairing the damage keeps your kitchen as it is. We work on solid surface (such as Corian), granite & marble and laminate, and the jobs we see most are a chipped edge and burns from hot pans.
Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Work for landlords and builders
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Highland and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
Honest limits
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Water-swollen laminate
- Cracks right through stone that has moved
- A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.
What we work on
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Solid wood
- Granite & marble

Questions from Culloden
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
What do you need from me?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire worktop and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
What happens next?
You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Can you repair a chipped quartz worktop?
Yes. We repair quartz chips regularly, matched and polished.
Do you cover the whole of Highland?
We cover the entire UK, including Culloden and the rest of Highland. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.
What we’re called out for in Culloden
Around the sink, water gets into joints on laminate and wood, which can cause swelling.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- A dent from a dropped pan
- Chips in quartz or granite
- A heat mark or burn
- Damage from fitting or building work

How the visit works
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
- Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
- We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
- The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
- Finally we seal or finish the area to match.
How to prepare
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
How to get a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.
Related advice
Different materials, different repairs
Quartz
Quartz is tough, though edges can chip. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished.
Laminate
Laminate worktops have a printed decorative layer over a board core. Chips and burns are filled and the pattern recreated.
What worktop repair costs
Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- The material
- Access to the area
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The type of damage
The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.
Getting a price from pictures
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Details of any past repairs
- Natural light rather than flash
- One picture of the whole worktop
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
Looking after it afterwards
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Take care with heavy pans near edges
- Do not cut directly on the worktop
- Never put hot pans down directly
- Steer clear of strong cleaners
Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.
Do not leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.
