Worktop repair at your home in Highland
Laminate, quartz, granite, solid surface and wooden worktops can all be repaired, with colour and pattern matched by hand. The worktop stays in place. Our technicians work on solid wood, quartz and solid surface (such as Corian), and people most often call us about a heat mark or burn and damage around the sink cut-out.
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
- We cut back any burnt or loose material.
- We fill and shape the damaged area.
- We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
- It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.
Pricing in Highland
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why book with us
- Colour-matched on site
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
How to get a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Landmarks near Inverness
Our clients here include homes close to Inverness, Cavell Gardens and Maple Court Hotel, among other places. The closest station to Inverness is Inverness station, about 0.7 miles north of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Inverness Castle (0.5 miles north) and Inverness Museum and Art Gallery (0.5 miles north). For a walk, there’s Tomnahurich.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Highland. What changes the price is:
- The type of damage
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- What the surface is made of
- How hard the colour is to match
We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Quotes from your pictures
Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Where you are, by postcode
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
What we’re called out for in Highland
Water around the sink can get into laminate and wood joints, which can cause swelling.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Dents and gouges
- Snagging damage in a new kitchen
- Chipped corners
- Scorch marks from pans
Honest limits
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Water-swollen laminate
- Cracks right through stone that has moved
- Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
Should you replace it?
Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is usually far better value.

Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Always use a trivet for hot pans
- Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
- Do not leave spills to soak in
- Keep joints and edges dry
Use chopping boards and trivets, wipe up spills promptly, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.
Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.
