Trusted worktop repair in Dunning

Worktop repair in Dunning without replacing anything

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: laminate is filled and patterned, quartz and stone are filled and polished, and wood is sanded and refinished. The goal is always a repair that blends in. Typical jobs include chips in quartz or granite and chipped corners, in quartz, solid wood and granite & marble.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What affects the price in Dunning

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Do you need worktop repair in Dunning?

The worst damage frequently happens in a moment: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • A heat mark or burn
  • Cuts and scratches in the surface
  • Damage around the sink cut-out
  • A chipped quartz edge

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know about parking or access

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Granite & marble
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Laminate
  • Quartz
  • Solid wood

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Do not let water sit on joints
  • Clean spills immediately

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.
