Earl Sterndale questions

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Just clear the area around the damage. We protect the rest of the kitchen.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can a scorch mark be fixed?

Generally. A picture lets us check what’s possible.

About our worktop repair in Earl Sterndale

We repair worktops in place. Most repairs take a few hours, and you can use the worktop again shortly afterwards. We work on laminate, solid surface (such as Corian) and quartz, and the jobs we see most are burns from hot pans and a chipped edge.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Earl Sterndale

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Repairing versus replacing in Earl Sterndale

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and often a new sink and hob connection. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • A cracked stone top that’s unsupported
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Severe heat marks in quartz

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material and finish

Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • What it’s made of, if you know

If you’re in Earl Sterndale and want a price, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

What your worktop is made of matters

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Wood

Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, and burns and dents repaired.

Our hiring checklist

What happens on the day

We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes a morning or an afternoon for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
