Need worktop repair in Haseley Knob?

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

How we handle worktop repair in Haseley Knob

A damaged worktop doesn’t have to mean a new kitchen. The damage is filled and refinished so it blends into the pattern. Typical jobs include damage to a stone worktop and damage from fitting or building work, on laminate, quartz and granite & marble.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Warwickshire.

Repairs by material

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern.

Quartz

Quartz is tough, though edges can chip. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished to the worktop’s finish.

How it works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. We recreate the pattern, flecks or grain.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Repairing versus replacing in Haseley Knob

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Haseley Knob. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why Haseley Knob clients choose us

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Haseley Knob as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
  • Don’t let water sit on joints
  • Chopping boards prevent scratches

Use chopping boards and trivets, wipe spills immediately, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

Signs you need worktop repair in Haseley Knob

Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

  • Dents and gouges
  • Scratches and knife marks
  • Chips caused during installation
  • A heat mark or burn

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from photos

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.
