Worktop repair for High Lane homes

About our worktop repair in High Lane

A new worktop rarely matches the old one, especially in an L-shaped or long kitchen. A repair leaves the kitchen untouched. If you’re dealing with a chipped edge and scorch marks from pans, we can help.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including High Lane. The price reflects:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Unusual colours or finishes

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your pictures

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Something in shot to show the size

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

What we are called out for in High Lane

Around the sink, water gets into joints on laminate and wood, which can cause swelling.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Damage around the sink cut-out
  • Burns from hot pans
  • Chips caused during installation
  • Gouges in the surface

10 questions to ask before you book

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and frequently a new sink and hob connection. A repair is a few hours with everything left in place. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for High Lane. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
  2. We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole worktop, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Oil wooden tops regularly
  • Dry around the sink and joints

Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.

Edge chips can get bigger, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.

High Lane: your questions answered

Can you match granite flecks?

Colour, flecks and veins are recreated by hand, so the repair blends into the surface.

Do I need to clear the kitchen?

Just near the damage. You can usually still use the rest of the kitchen.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, and that includes High Lane. Prices don’t change with location.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Different materials, different repairs

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so scratches and burns can frequently be sanded out and refinished.
