Repairs by material
Laminate
Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.

Quartz worktops are mostly stone set in resin. We fill and polish chipped edges to match the sheen.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- How hard the colour is to match
- The material and finish
- How many items we do on one visit
- How many areas need work
The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
Getting a price from pictures
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Natural light rather than flash
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
Most clients in Hove Edge get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Stone and quartz tops are templated and cut to fit, so replacing a section takes time and money. A repair takes a few hours. Our worktop repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.
What you get with us
- A fixed quote before you book
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
See our pricing.
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
Honest limits
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
- Water-swollen laminate
- Through cracks in stone that is moving
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Materials we repair
- Solid wood
- Laminate
- Solid surface (such as Corian)

How it works
Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
- Burnt or loose material is cut back.
- We fill and shape the damaged area.
- The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
- We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Ensure the room can be ventilated

Aftercare tips
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Re-oil timber worktops
- Watch the edges with heavy pans
- Never put hot pans down directly
- Steer clear of strong cleaners
Hot pans should always go on a trivet. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.
Daily use can make burns and chips worse particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.
