How we handle worktop repair in Kaimes
We repair worktops in place, with the rest of the kitchen protected. Most jobs take a few hours, and the worktop can be used again soon after. Typical jobs include damage around the sink cut-out and knife marks, in solid surface (such as Corian), granite & marble and solid wood.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Keeping it looking good
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Do not let water sit on joints
- Take care with heavy pans near edges
- Steer clear of strong cleaners
- Always use a trivet for hot pans
Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, particularly with laminate and timber.
Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, as water can get in and cause swelling.
Do you need worktop repair in Kaimes?
Around the sink, water gets into joints on laminate and wood, and that can make them swell.
The most common problems we’re called about are:
- A heat mark or burn
- Damage around the sink cut-out
- Chips in quartz or granite
- Chips on edges and corners

How we price worktop repair
Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- The type of damage
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Access to the area
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.
Getting a price from photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- One sharp close-up of the damage
Most customers in Kaimes get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
FAQs for Kaimes
How do I book?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.
Will it make a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working.
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
Is repairing better than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Can you repair a chipped quartz worktop?
Yes. We match the colour and polish the repair.
Is my repair covered?
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Solid surface
Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so scratches and burns can frequently be sanded out and refinished.
Quartz
Quartz is crushed stone bound with resin. We fill and polish chipped edges.
Should you replace it?
If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is usually far better value. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
Why us?
- We leave the room as we found it
- Same prices wherever you are
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- Colour mixed on the day to match
See our prices page.
DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
