What your worktop is made of matters

Laminate

A laminate worktop is a thin decorative layer on a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Worktop repair in Kentrigg without replacing anything

A new worktop rarely matches the old one, particularly where several lengths join. A repair leaves the kitchen untouched. Our repair technicians work on granite & marble, solid wood and laminate, and the jobs we see most are burns from hot pans and cuts and scratches in the surface.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back.

  • Discolouration deep in quartz

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

  • Burns from hot pans
  • Damage to a stone worktop
  • Chipped corners

Our hiring checklist

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a morning or an afternoon. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is usually far better value. Prices start from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Do not cut directly on the worktop
  • Don’t knock pans against the edge
  • Don’t leave spills to soak in
  • Re-oil timber worktops

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

Edge chips can get bigger, and water can reach the core of laminate. An early repair prevents it.

Your questions about worktop repair in Kentrigg

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

Yes. We recreate the pattern by hand so it blends in.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

How much does worktop repair cost in Kentrigg?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your LA9 postcode.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

How quickly can you book me in?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Kentrigg. The price comes down to:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How much damage there is

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the whole worktop
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
