Worktop repair in Lane Head, done in place

We repair worktops in place. Most jobs take a few hours, and you can use the worktop again shortly afterwards. We regularly repair granite & marble, quartz and solid surface (such as Corian), and common reasons people contact us are damage around the sink cut-out and a chipped quartz edge.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Lane Head and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Cracks right through stone that has moved
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How to look after the repair

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Don’t knock pans against the edge
  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Never put hot pans down directly

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse, especially near the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

Different materials, different repairs

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Open a window if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Which areas do you work in?

The entire UK, including all of Derbyshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will offer you dates.

In most cases. A photo lets us check.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Even a single new length of worktop means templating, cutting and refitting the sink and hob. A repair is a few hours with everything left in place. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
