Worktop repair at your home in Mayfair

Different worktops need different repairs: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We’re often asked to fix gouges in the surface and knife marks, on solid wood, quartz and laminate.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Questions from Mayfair

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Greater London. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Do you come to Mayfair?

We do. Technicians travel to Mayfair from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Mayfair

  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Solid wood
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Use a chopping board
  • Clean spills immediately
  • Keep a trivet by the hob

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new worktop means removing the old one, templating and fitting a replacement and reconnecting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. A repair keeps your existing worktop. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us
