Worktop repair in Moor Pool

Worktop repair in Moor Pool without replacing anything

You don’t need a new worktop because of one mark. The damage is filled and refinished to blend into the surface around it. Typical jobs include dents and gouges and burns from hot pans, across solid surface (such as Corian), solid wood and granite & marble.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What happens on the day

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Should you replace it?

A new worktop means taking out the damaged top, templating and fitting a replacement and refitting the sink and hob, and it may not match the rest of the kitchen. Repairing the damage leaves the worktop in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Moor Pool. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Do not let water sit on joints
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone

Always use a trivet and chopping board, wipe spills immediately, and keep wooden tops oiled.

Edge chips can get bigger, and water can reach the core of laminate. Repairing it early stops that.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Quartz

Quartz is crushed stone bound with resin. Edge chips are very common, and we fill and polish them.

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.

When to call us in Moor Pool

Questions from Moor Pool

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Can you repair a chipped quartz worktop?

Yes, often. The repair is colour matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, plus dates. You’re under no obligation.

Do I need to clear the kitchen?

Only the area we are working on. The rest is covered and protected.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Moor Pool

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
