Worktop repair in Muirhead, done in place
The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. We build up the colour and flecks by hand so the repair blends in. We regularly repair quartz, solid wood and solid surface (such as Corian), and people most frequently call us about scratches and knife marks and a chipped edge.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Repair or replace in Muirhead?
Stone and quartz tops are templated and cut to fit, so replacing a section takes time and money. A repair takes a few hours. Our worktop repair starts from £95. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Why us?
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- Most jobs done in one visit
- Free fixed quotes from pictures

Honest limits
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:
- Failed support under the worktop
- Cracks right through stone that has moved
- Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Granite & marble
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Solid wood
- Quartz
- Laminate
Different materials, different repairs
Wood
Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, and burns and dents repaired.
Quartz
Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. We fill chips with a tinted resin and polish them.
Muirhead questions
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Is there a call-out fee?
There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Will you leave a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Is repairing better than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.
Can landlords book you?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
How the visit works
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a few hours. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
- The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
- We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- Finally we seal or finish the area to match.
How to prepare
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
Ask for a price
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Related advice
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The type of damage
- How much damage there is
- The material and finish
Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
Send photos for a quote
You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Ensure they show:
- Natural light rather than flash
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A picture taken from further back
- Where you are, by postcode
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire worktop, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
DIY kit or professional repair?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
Do you need worktop repair in Muirhead?
Worktops take more punishment than anything else in the kitchen. Hot pans leave burns, knives leave scratches, and heavy pans chip the edges.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- A heat mark or burn
- A dent from a dropped pan
- Cuts and scratches in the surface
- Snagging damage in a new kitchen
