Worktop repair for Peel homes

Worktop repair in Peel without replacing anything

Worktops are expensive to replace and hard to match, especially in an L-shaped or long kitchen. Repairing the damage keeps your kitchen as it is. We regularly repair granite & marble, laminate and solid wood, and common reasons people get in touch are a damaged sink edge and burns from hot pans.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Peel questions

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

How much does worktop repair cost in Peel?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your FY4 postcode.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you cover Peel?

We do. Technicians travel to Peel from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

What a repair cannot fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Solid wood
  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It typically takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

Advice

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep wood oiled
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Use a chopping board
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz

Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

A chip on an edge can grow, and water can reach the core of laminate. Repairing it early stops that.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Quartz

Quartz worktops are mostly stone set in resin. Edge chips are very common, and we fill and polish them.

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

How we price worktop repair

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material and finish
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Peel. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

Common problems we fix in Peel

Most chips are on edges and corners, frequently when something heavy catches the edge.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • A dent from a dropped pan
  • Damage from fitting or building work
  • Cuts and scratches in the surface
  • Chipped corners
