Worktop repair for Pendoggett homes

About our worktop repair in Pendoggett

Worktops are expensive to replace and hard to match, particularly where several lengths join. A repair leaves the kitchen untouched. We work on solid wood, solid surface (such as Corian) and granite & marble, and people most frequently call us about damage from fitting or building work and a damaged sink edge.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Questions from Pendoggett

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

We match colour, flecks and veining by hand, for a repair that blends in.

What happens after I send pictures?

You’ll get a fixed quote back, usually with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Do I need to clear the kitchen?

Just near the damage. You can usually still use the rest of the kitchen.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • A wider photo showing the whole worktop
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode

Most clients in Pendoggett get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice

Honest limits

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A cracked stone top that is unsupported
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Laminate
  • Solid wood
  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

Should you replace it?

Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, templating and fitting a replacement and refitting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. A repair keeps your existing worktop. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Do not knock pans against the edge
  • Do not cut directly on the worktop
  • Keep wood oiled
  • Keep joints and edges dry

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

Don’t leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Pendoggett

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Signs you need worktop repair in Pendoggett

Water around the sink can get into laminate and wood joints, which can cause swelling.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • Chipped corners
  • Damage to a stone worktop
  • Snagging damage in a new kitchen
  • Damage around the sink cut-out

What to look for in a quote

  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How soon you can use it again
