Worktop repair in Pitkerro, done in place

Different worktops need different repairs: laminate is filled and patterned, quartz and stone are filled and polished, and wood is sanded and refinished. The goal is always a repair that blends in. We regularly repair granite & marble, solid surface (such as Corian) and laminate, and people most frequently call us about damage from fitting or building work and chips near the sink.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee.

Honest limits

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • Failed support under the worktop

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Solid wood

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal or finish the area to match.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

What worktop repair costs

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the whole worktop
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Most clients in Pitkerro get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Repair or replace in Pitkerro?

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Pitkerro. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.

Pitkerro questions

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. The repair is colour matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Is a burnt worktop repairable?

Often, yes. We remove the damaged surface, fill it and recreate the pattern.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.

Do I need to clear the kitchen?

Only the area we are working on. The rest is covered and protected.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Pitkerro and the rest of Dundee. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Do you need worktop repair in Pitkerro?

Around the sink, water gets into joints on laminate and wood, which can cause swelling.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A dent from a dropped pan
  • Chipped corners
  • Chips in quartz or granite
  • Scorch marks from pans

What your quote should include

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What prep work is covered
  • Whether they match the colour on site
