How we handle worktop repair in Priory
We repair worktops in place, with the area around the damage covered. Most repairs take a few hours, and the worktop can be used again soon after. We work on solid surface (such as Corian), laminate and solid wood, and common reasons people get in touch are a chipped edge and damage to a stone worktop.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Repairs by material
Granite and stone
Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.
Laminate
Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
What worktop repair costs
Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- How much damage there is
- The material
- How many items we do on one visit
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Priory. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Any details about the material
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Details of any past repairs
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Why repair rather than replace?
Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing one section is a big job. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

How to care for the repair
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
- Chopping boards prevent scratches
- Never put hot pans down directly
- Do not knock pans against the edge
Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.
Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, because water gets in and swells the board.
Work for landlords and builders
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.
