Worktop repair for Rose Hill homes

Worktop repair in Rose Hill without replacing anything

Different worktops need different repairs: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We’re frequently asked to fix chipped corners and scratches and knife marks, across quartz, granite & marble and laminate.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Repairs by material

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so scratches and burns can frequently be sanded out and refinished.

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • Failed support under the worktop
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Questions from Rose Hill

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

How much do I need to move?

Only around the repair. You can usually still use the rest of the kitchen.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.

Can a scorch mark be fixed?

Normally. A photo lets us check what’s possible.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Can you repair a chipped quartz worktop?

Yes. Chips on edges and around the sink are very common repairs, filled and polished to match.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Common problems we fix in Rose Hill

Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up more slowly, from knives and grit.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Scorch marks from pans
  • Chips in quartz or granite
  • Knife marks
  • Gouges in the surface

What to look for in a quote

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What aftercare is recommended

How to compare quotes

What worktop repair costs

Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Rose Hill. The price comes down to:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A wider photo showing the whole worktop
  • Details of any past repairs

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Should you replace it?

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is generally far better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Keep wood oiled
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Do not cut directly on the worktop
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges

Hot pans should always go on a trivet. Heat can mark quartz and stone as well.

Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, as water can get in and cause swelling.

How it works

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a few hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

How to prepare

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the worktop, add your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Advice

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
