Landlords, agents and businesses in Ross-on-Wye

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Worktop repair at your home in Ross-on-Wye

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We work on laminate, granite & marble and quartz, and common reasons people get in touch are a chipped quartz edge and dents and gouges.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Should you replace it?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Clean spills immediately
  • Re-oil timber worktops

Use chopping boards and trivets, wipe spills immediately, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.

Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, as water can get in and cause swelling.

What worktop repair costs

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • Whether we combine several jobs

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

What your worktop is made of matters

Wood

Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, and burns and dents repaired.

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.

What a repair cannot fix

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
