Worktop repair near Roundhay

Landlords, agents and businesses in Roundhay

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Leeds and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

How we handle worktop repair in Roundhay

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. If you are dealing with a dent from a dropped pan and chips caused during installation, we can help, on solid surface (such as Corian), laminate and granite & marble alike.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • One picture of the entire worktop
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace: which is better?

An identical replacement may look different next to aged worktops. A repair is matched to what you have now. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

What you get with us

  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

See our full price list.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A top that moves on its units

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Solid wood
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Quartz

Repairs by material

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so marks can often be sanded and refinished.

Quartz

Quartz is crushed stone bound with resin. Edge chips are very common, and we fill and polish them to match the sheen.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
