Trusted worktop repair in Sowhill

Worktop repair in Sowhill, done in place

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We’re frequently asked to fix knife marks and damage around the sink cut-out, in laminate, solid wood and solid surface (such as Corian).

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Sowhill questions

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Can you repair a burn in a worktop?

In most cases. Send us a picture and we will tell you what’s possible.

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Related advice

Do you need worktop repair in Sowhill?

Most chips are on edges and corners, typically from pans, tins or dishes knocked against them.

Customers generally contact us about:

  • Scratches and knife marks
  • Damage to a stone worktop
  • Scorch marks from pans
  • Gouges in the surface

Choosing a repair company

Different materials, different repairs

Quartz

Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. We fill chips with a tinted resin and polish them.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so marks can often be sanded and refinished.

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Granite & marble
  • Solid wood
  • Quartz

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Don’t cut directly on the worktop
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
  • Dry around the sink and joints

Hot pans should always go on a trivet. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Repair or replace: which is better?

An identical replacement may look different next to aged worktops. We match the repair to your worktop as it is today. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

What affects the price in Sowhill

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the worktop, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
