Worktop repair in Stantway

Landlord and trade work in Stantway

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Gloucestershire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

About our worktop repair in Stantway

Worktops are expensive to replace and hard to match, particularly where several lengths join. Repairing the damage keeps your kitchen as it is. We work on quartz, laminate and solid wood, and the jobs we see most are chipped corners and cuts and scratches in the surface.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

What affects the price in Stantway

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many areas need work
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any details about the material
  • A wider photo showing the entire worktop
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

If you are in Stantway and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
  3. We fill with a filler suited to the material and rebuild any missing edge.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

Repairing versus replacing in Stantway

Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, cutting and fitting a new one and refitting the sink and hob, and it may not match the rest of the kitchen. A repair keeps your existing worktop. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Common questions in Stantway

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Stantway and the rest of Gloucestershire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

Yes, the pattern is built up by hand so it blends in.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. Chips on edges and around the sink are very common repairs, filled and polished to match.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Different materials, different repairs

Laminate

Laminate worktops have a printed decorative layer over a board core. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern.

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Do not let water sit on joints
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Use a chopping board
  • Keep wood oiled

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.

Don’t leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • A cracked stone top that is unsupported

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.
