Worktop repair for Stoke-on-Trent homes

What your worktop is made of matters

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so scratches and burns can often be sanded out and refinished.

Laminate

Laminate worktops have a printed decorative layer over a board core. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern.

Worktop repair in Stoke-on-Trent, done in place

Laminate, quartz, granite, solid surface and wooden worktops can all be repaired, matching the colour and pattern by hand. Nothing is taken out. We work on granite & marble, quartz and solid surface (such as Corian), and the jobs we see most are chips in quartz or granite and scratches and knife marks.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Stoke-on-Trent questions

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What do you need from me?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Do you cover Stoke-on-Trent?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Stoke-on-Trent for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Repair or replace in Stoke-on-Trent?

Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, cutting and fitting a new one and reconnecting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. Repairing the damage leaves the worktop in place. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Why book with us

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • No need to remove anything
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

When we would advise against a repair

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Laminate
  • Granite & marble
  • Solid wood
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Quartz

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know about parking or access

Advice

Do you need worktop repair in Stoke-on-Trent?

Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Damage from fitting or building work
  • Knife marks
  • Chips in quartz or granite
  • A dent from a dropped pan

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • When it can be used again

Choosing a repair company

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Stoke-on-Trent. The price reflects:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Stoke-on-Trent. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A picture taken from further back
  • What it’s made of, if you know

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Use a chopping board
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, particularly with laminate and timber.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
