Worktop repair for Temple homes

How to care for the repair

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Dry around the sink and joints

Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.

Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, as water can get in and cause swelling.

Worktop repair in Temple without replacing anything

A damaged worktop does not have to mean a new kitchen. The damage is filled and refinished to blend into the surface around it. Typical jobs include damage from fitting or building work and a chipped quartz edge, in solid surface (such as Corian), laminate and quartz.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Repair or replace in Temple?

Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing a section takes time and money. A repair takes a few hours. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Temple. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why Temple customers choose us

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Work done at your home or business
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Everything repaired in place

Different materials, different repairs

Quartz

Quartz is crushed stone bound with resin. Edge chips are very common, and we fill and polish them to match the sheen.

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, and burns and dents repaired.

How the visit works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

  • Cuts and scratches in the surface
  • Gouges in the surface
  • Chips caused during installation
  • Chipped corners
