Worktop repair in The Holt

How we handle worktop repair in The Holt

A worktop repair is carried out in your kitchen, with the rest of the kitchen protected. Most repairs take a few hours, and the worktop can be used again soon after. Typical jobs include a chipped quartz edge and a heat mark or burn, in solid surface (such as Corian), granite & marble and quartz.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

When to call us in The Holt

People normally call us when they notice one of these:

  • Burns from hot pans

How to compare quotes

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the whole worktop
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Most customers in The Holt get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Repairs by material

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.

Quartz

Quartz worktops are mostly stone set in resin. Edge chips are very common, and we fill and polish them to match the sheen.

Your questions about worktop repair in The Holt

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, and that includes The Holt. Prices do not change with location.

Can you match granite flecks?

We match colour, flecks and veining by hand, for a repair that blends in.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire worktop and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Just clear the area around the damage. We protect the rest of the kitchen.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Landlord and trade work in The Holt

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll arrange it.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

When a repair is not the answer

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Severe heat marks in quartz
  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A top that moves on its units

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It usually takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Watch the edges with heavy pans
  • Never put hot pans down directly
  • Clean spills immediately
  • Re-oil timber worktops

Always use a trivet and chopping board, wipe up spills promptly, and keep wooden tops oiled.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.
