How we handle worktop repair in Wix

The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. Colour, flecks and veining are recreated by hand so the repair blends in. Our repair technicians work on granite & marble, laminate and quartz, and common reasons people get in touch are a damaged sink edge and chips on edges and corners.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep wood oiled
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Don’t knock pans against the edge
  • Keep a trivet by the hob

Always use a trivet and chopping board, wipe up spills promptly, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.

A chip on an edge can grow, and on laminate, water can get into the core. An early repair prevents it.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Wood

Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, with burns and dents put right.

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • Failed support under the worktop
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Laminate
  • Solid wood
  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Granite & marble

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

FAQs for Wix

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Just clear the area around the damage. The rest is covered and protected.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Is a burnt worktop repairable?

Often, yes. The burn is cut back, filled and patterned to match.

How do I get a price for worktop repair in Wix?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your CO11 postcode.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Repairing versus replacing in Wix

Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. We match the repair to your worktop as it is today. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Wix

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Access to the area
  • What the surface is made of

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • One picture of the whole worktop
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Natural light rather than flash

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole worktop, we can price the job.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
