Trusted worktop repair in Wrotham Heath

What we do, step by step

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We look at the damage and the worktop’s finish.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. We fill and shape the damaged area.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Open a window if you can

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Worktop repair at your home in Wrotham Heath

We repair worktops in place. Most repairs take a few hours, and you can use the worktop again shortly afterwards. We regularly repair solid surface (such as Corian), solid wood and laminate, and people most often call us about chips caused during installation and chips in quartz or granite.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode

Send us pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Wrotham Heath, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

For landlords and businesses

If you manage property in Wrotham Heath, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will price them together.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

When to call us in Wrotham Heath

Sink and hob cut-outs are weak points, and that is where cracks often begin.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A chipped edge
  • Dents and gouges
  • Burns from hot pans
  • Chips caused during installation

Before you book anyone

  • What preparation is included
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How your room will be protected
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show

Our hiring checklist

Different materials, different repairs

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Quartz

Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. We fill chips with a tinted resin and polish them to the worktop’s finish.

Wrotham Heath questions

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can you repair a burn in a worktop?

Normally, yes. We remove the damaged surface, fill it and recreate the pattern.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Do you cover Wrotham Heath?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Wrotham Heath and the rest of Kent. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What we can’t put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Discolouration deep in quartz
  • Cracks right through stone that has moved
  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Quartz
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate
  • Granite & marble

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Clean spills right away
  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Don’t let water sit on joints

Always use a trivet and chopping board, wipe spills right away, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse particularly around the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
