Bath re-enamelling for Aimes Green homes

Bath re-enamelling in Aimes Green, done in place

We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths, and people most frequently call us about a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

How it works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to the best part of a day, tidy-up included.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Ensure the area is dry

Advice

When a repair is not the answer

We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Aimes Green

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, often. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Aimes Green?

What we’re called out for in Aimes Green

Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Stains that will not shift
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • Thin, worn enamel in places

Before you book anyone

  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How the room is protected while they work

What affects the price in Aimes Green

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Quotes from your photos

You can typically get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Repairing versus replacing in Aimes Green

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Store bottles off the bath

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
