Bath Re-enamelling for Alva homes
We travel to Alva for full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing. Nothing is taken out, and the work is guaranteed.
- Resurfacing from £350
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Bath re-enamelling at your home in Alva
We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Our technicians work on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and a coloured bath you want in white.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Alva and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Can I fix it myself?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Alva. The price reflects:
- Access to the area
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- What the surface is made of
- Unusual colours or finishes
The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Getting a price from photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- A photo taken from further back
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Where you are, by postcode
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.
Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Alva as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.
If you manage property in Alva, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

What we are called out for in Alva
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and scrubbing it wears it down further. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
Contact us if you’ve noticed:
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- An old resurfacing that is failing

Alva questions
How long does re-enamelling last?
It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and our work is guaranteed for a year.
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Can you quote from pictures?
Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Generally one day, with the bath ready the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
How do I book?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Is it messy?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.
Why repair rather than replace?
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Prices start from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Alva. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How the visit works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes the best part of a day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Point us to the nearest place to park
Ask for a price
If you’re in Alva and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Related advice
Keeping it looking good
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Never use suction bath mats
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Respect the curing time we give you
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
