Bath re-enamelling in Ashbocking

Repair or replace in Ashbocking?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Ashbocking. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

Bath re-enamelling in Ashbocking, done in place

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. Whether it’s several chips and rust patches and worn patches where water runs and sits, we can help, whatever the material.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • A bath split right through the body

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Landlord and trade work in Ashbocking

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The colour and finish to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Details of any past repairs

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Common questions in Ashbocking

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Ashbocking?

Prices start from £350. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

How long does re-enamelling last?

It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and our work is guaranteed for a year.

Can you quote from pictures?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, frequently. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Usually one day, with the bath ready the next day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

The process

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a full day. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Getting a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
