Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

About our bath re-enamelling in Woodbridge

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. We work on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are lots of chips and rust spots and a bath in a colour that no longer suits.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How many areas need work

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Woodbridge. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

For a price in Woodbridge, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Common problems we fix in Woodbridge

Many baths we resurface have simply been well used. The body of the bath is normally perfectly sound.

Most people contact us when they notice one of these:

  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • Wear marks under the taps
  • Stains that will not shift

What your quote should include

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • What happens if they find more damage

10 questions to ask before booking

Woodbridge: your questions answered

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes. Inside and out.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you work in Woodbridge?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Woodbridge and the rest of Suffolk. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Are there extra charges for Woodbridge?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What we can’t put right

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • A bath split right through the body

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & shower trays

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths

Landlord and trade work in Woodbridge

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Woodbridge as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Suffolk and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, typically one day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • One price list for the entire UK

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes a full day. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
